Elijah's Project for Hope is interested in partnering with researchers who have proposals to further our understanding of WARS2. Please contact us through the Elijah's Project for Hope website to discuss your proposal. If you have active WARS2 research, please contact us so we may list it here.

Dr. Bryn Webb

Bryn D. Webb, MD, is a clinical and molecular geneticist and pediatrician who is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has a longstanding history in the study of mitochondrial aminoacyl tRNA synthetase disorders and was the first to identify a mitochondrial disease due to single nucleotide variants in MARS2. She was previously Co-Director of the Mitochondrial Medicine Center of Excellence at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Webb is a physician scientist who studies mitochondrial aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase disorders in mouse models and human induced pluripotent stem cell models.

To further study WARS2 disease, Dr. Webb has:
1) Developed a mouse model of WARS2 disease with generous funding provided by Elijah's Project for Hope.
2) Has created a biorepository of lymphocyte and fibroblast samples from affected patients for RNA-seq
3) Has developed a patient registry to learn more about WARS2-related disease and welcomes participation from all affected families.

If you would like to participate in Dr. Webb's research studies, please reach out to her directly at: bdwebb@wisc.edu
In particular, she would like all families to consider participation in the patient registry. For families able to provide samples for molecular studies, Dr. Webb would like to receive blood samples and/or skin biopsy/fibroblast samples.
